hey guys
yesterday was a LONG day.. i woke up at 3:15 to be at the highschool and 3:45 in the morning!!..omg it was competition day and boy was i nervous! but just as excited. i got at the school and i was so tired. and i could see that everyone else was too. the bus came around 4:30 and we loaded the bus. girlswere in the front and boys in the back...same for the way home.. it was a little boring...eh but it was okay...
anyway for the competition i would say we got there around 7ish.. we got ready and in our uniforms and it was time for my event...round 9ish..it was inspection and it was made totally of freshmans..i was so nervous and i couldnt help it but my legs kept shaking continuously it was crazy. i like all the other freshmans had to studying a packet of inspection questions. then in the competition a sergant or someone else would ask you a question, but u had to keep a military bearing..meaning u had to stay tough and u couldnt crack..no secondary movements are allowed, or stuttering.
i was the first person to go in my squad. the sergant came up to me asked me how i was doing, asked me how long ive been in the program (3 months) he said i looked good for being in the program for 3 months, and he did a left face and was gone. i was so mad!! i studied and made sure i knew my information and this guy didnt even ask me one question from the packet.
after the guy was done with my he moved on to stephanie ( she was next to me) she did really good!! i was so proud of everyone... when union high school was done we left the gym floor and out into the hallway. everyone said we did really good. i was a little mad because i messed up marching off the gym floor it was a little embarressing...but o well.. well i happy. the event was over, but i couldnt wait to watch everyone else in competition. there was a bunch of different events, armed squad basic, unarmed squad, armed and umarmed trick, unarmed duel, colorguard, omg..so much and then at the end there was knock out which i played too..it was fun...i wish i would have stayed in longer though...lol
and now the best part of the competition..the awards... if i counted right yesterday i think union high had 11 different trophies.... and we placed first in inspection..omg was i so happy i cant even describe it..i thought we did good in inspection but i thought was either third or no place at all...so when they said third place and gave it to another school i was a little disappointed.... but they called first and said union high school and i was OMG!! and i started to cry...and laugh i was just so happy...we did good...and the team was all freshmans..which made me even happier. we placed in other events i dont even remember...we just did so good.
the last award was over all champions.. and guess who got it, we did!! union high placed first place over all...when we heard that everyone just started crying and laughing.. we said our lil chant so cheezy and so happy the two other schools in formation next to us started laughing but what do i care, they were just envious they know they wanted that trophy.. well what can i say it was a good day yesterday.. there were a lot of really good schools there...but we were just the best...lol i hope we can do it again.
